AOOD fiber optic rotary joints effectively combine a compact electrical slip ring with a fiber optic rotating joint. They allow the flexibility of electrical, power, and optic signal transfer or large amount of data transfer through a single rotational joint. Stainless steel housing and high protection degree ensure they to fit in any harsh environment, even in thousands of meters underwater.

Most AOOD fiber optic hybrid slip rings are used in ROVs(Remotely Operated Vehicles), they are required to transfer high voltage, signals, video and fiber optic signals to/ from ROVs, voltage is usually around 3000 volts at maybe 20 amps per phase for the power, fiber optics tends to be all single mode, could be one, two or more channels.
